Comet Welding is a CWB certified welding and custom fabrication shop located in Lacombe, AB
We work with customers in various industries to provide engineered and certified components specific to each clients needs. The quality of our products and commitment to our customers has been Comet Welding’s priority since 1982.
Comet Welding is looking to add an Apprentice Welder. The key responsibilities of the role include:
· Material preparation for projects, including cutting, drilling and layout will be heavily utilized.
· Mechanically inclined person with experience using overhead cranes, drills, general shop tools.
· Following established safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment.
· Observing experienced welders and asking questions to gain a deeper understanding of welding processes and techniques.
· Participating in on-the-job training programs and attending welding classes or workshops as required.
· Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as cleaning and maintaining welding equipment, preparing work areas, and organizing materials.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in welding and a desire to learn the trade. They should be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are also important. No prior welding experience is required but must show interest in the trade outside of the position.
This is a full-time position; a valid class 5 license and reliable transportation is required. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 4:30 PM and some Saturdays. All interested candidates are asked to submit a resume through this ad or come in person to drop off a resume.
