The Position: Full time Utility – this is an entry level position in a large flour milling plant in Mississauga, Ontario.
Pay Rate: $23.32/hour
The Candidate: The successful candidate must possess good communication skills and the ability to follow directions and perform various tasks safely and independently in a production environment.
The successful applicant must be able to work from heights, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, and bend. May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg. Also needs to be able to work in a variety of hot, cold, or wet conditions. Shift work, overtime and weekends will be required.
In order to meet the requirements of this job posting the applicant will be cross-trained in all operational positions to facilitate operational needs. To be successful the candidate will be advancing towards an Operator position over time as business requires. The expectation being that the successful applicant will be competent when working with machinery, including the ability to safely troubleshoot operational issues.
Training will be provided and the successful candidate will be able to meet expectations within a reasonable period of time.
Basic computer skills, numeracy and record accuracy are also necessary to succeed at this role. There is room for further advancement in this role.
This position also includes general sanitation duties following established GMPs for our food safety programs. Adhering to GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Safety Rules is essential. Duties include but are not limited to material handling, light maintenance, and cleaning.
