Job Summary

The Surveillance Operator is responsible for protecting the assets and interests of Sand Hills Casino by monitoring all guests, visitors and employees via video camera to ensure that all laws, rules, regulation and policies are been followed. Monitors table and electronic game play for any infractions of house rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include

  • Ensures the safety of patrons, employees and property of the resort
  • Promotes positive public relations
  • Responsible for surveillance functions at assigned station
  • Observes participants in table games to detect cheating, identify rule violators, and monitors persons designated, suspicious or ‘persons of interest’
  • Notifies management of all suspicious activity within the resort
  • Records and reports any irregular gaming activity
  • Creates and writes up various reports and records
  • Upholds all information conveyed in Surveillance Department with strict confidentiality
  • Uses a computer and various types of software
  • Monitors and communicates with security personal in crisis situations
  • Executes Emergency Response Plan in crisis situations
  • Practices Health & Safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications and Requirements

Ideal candidates have knowledge of Tables Games, Manitoba Liquor Laws and familiarity with emergency situations. Through strong communication with emphasis on clear verbal communication, articulate writing skills and attention to detail you are able to manage multiple tasks and events that need attention and monitoring. Prior use of joy stick or keyboard operations and use of Microsoft Office programs is necessary. A teamwork approach with an easy going personality and flexibility are ideal to meet the needs of the 24/7 department. He/she must practice clear understanding of confidentiality and conflict of interest policies. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Requirements

Physically you need to be able to bend, lift, move and operate keyboard equipment on a day to day basis for entire shift.

The incumbent must obtain and maintain approval from the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week
